So Easy a Cavegirl Could Do It

After 8 weeks, we have, save for a few snags, settled in to a routine of Meet the Press, coffee, and Sunday morning blogging. Audrey is sleeping one off in her room after an action-packed Halloween.

We started out the day with a mad dash to JC Penney to get Audrey's pictures taken. Thanks Onn!! The scene was frightening--"lots of Snow Whites and hair extensions" is a phrase Brian used in a text that he sent to a friend as we waited. He tried to photograph the scene of the soon to be photographed but couldn't get a good shot due to the "sea of moms' big butts in the way." Does my butt look big? Hmmm.

Audrey wasn't as camera shy as she was annoyed. The photographer threw out every trick in the book that might amuse or direct Audrey's attention to the task, largely to no avail. He was also extremely patient with the many wardrobe changes and hair accessory adjustments that mom insisted were absolutely necessary. After several 'touch and go' moments that included a dirty diaper, we were relieved when the session was done. The pictures should arrive in a week, so stay tuned.

Grandma Babs and Grandpa Jerry came down for a visit and got to see Audrey in her Halloween finery. We carved some pumpkins, took some pictures, and Audrey had an explosion on her costume, showing that she could get into her uncivilized character.

After about 7 trick-or-treaters, 4 of which were people we knew, things quieted down and we decided to head out to a party in Ocean Beach. Audrey was a bit sugared up by now, thanks to Mom getting into a bag of Reese's products, and spent the bulk of the party sleeping in a quiet back room.

Ok, that's it for now, we're off to Home Depot; trying to get back into the routine of working on the house on the weekends, but the extra hour of morning daylight and the 75 degree forecast make it tough...
