Guns, Grenades, and Opthomologists

On St. Patty's Day, Brian went over to our neighbors, the Murphy's to find out if Joey, their five year old son had managed to catch a leprechaun. I had spent a good part of the evening prior showing him how to set a leprechaun trap and had sent him home dazzled and determined to be the first kid ever to be clever enough to catch one. Apparently the sneaky leprechaun did trigger his trap in the middle of the night and woke Joey up, but the little bugger had managed to escape just in the nick of time. This was quite a momentous development in his life, as you can imagine, and his sleep-deprived parents informed Brian that he was up past midnight after this happened, and asked him to thank me again for enlightening their son. ;)

Anyway, while Brian was hearing about "the one that got away," Mike gave Brian a clip from the San Diego Union Tribune that he'd been saving. We found out later that it dates from August 28, 2008, roughly 9 months before we bought the house. Here it is:



Some of you may not know that we bought our house from a man who needed to make some cash to pay attorney's fees after being deported to his native Germany for illegally selling firearms across the border and over the Internet. In addition to the grenade, police found a Remington vault containing over 80 handguns.

That's our home sweet home!! The neighbors saw it coming for months, but the swat team finally raided the house after the man fired several shots through a door after being locked out by his father, who was in town trying to help him. We could go on and on with stories about this guy. . .

Anyway, that was interesting, but not as much as what followed. Brian then flipped over the clip to see if he could find a date on it, and TA DA!, there he was in his white lab coat, Dr. Kang Zhang, the Retinal geneticist at Shiley who is seeing Audrey.

Talk about hitting home! This is one of the more bizarre things that has happened to us lately.
